Blog Entry 15 EAT Broccoli

I believe being obese depends on children's parents.
Allowing their children what they should and should not eat.
It starts at home and ends where their children spend most of their time at.Meaning what parents are serving their children for dinner.
Schools also play a role on what children eat and what they are being served for lunch.
Parents are the ones who can changed the way the way their children eat and lifestyle.
The number of children that are obese has increased,in the past couple of years.

There are many commercials advertising junk food,which the viewers are children.
Few companies are deciding to cut back on advertising junk food.
Acoording to the Council of better business bureaus companies plan on promoting healthier foods
and lifestyles.They also plan on advertising in children zones,mainly in schools.
Micheal Jacobson,executive director for The Science in the Public Interest,doesnt agree companies are doing enough to decreased junk food advertisements.
I believe companies are interested if there products sells and not worried about the children they are making it for.

The Childrens Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative,is a group who sit down with popular companies such as McDonalds,Hershey and Coca-Cola to find ways to improve their products.
Improving their products by adding less sugar and making products that are actually healthy.
Also improving the way these big companies advertise their products,rather than having someone famous or a cartoon character to advertise them.Advertisements make it difficult for kids to eat healthy foods.
Being obese at a young age can bring many problems,such as appearance and medical issues.
Apprearance issues may affect a kid in school getting picked on cause his weight and size.
It also leads to diabetes not controlling what kids eat at home or at school.
Another reason is it can lead to heart disease making it difficult for children to breath.

Smoking at a young age can lead to many problems,such as health problems.
Children ages from 10-14 are most likely to pick up a cigarette and smoke it.
Due to the things that surround them,such as movies,TV shows,video games.
Which they might believe it will make them look cool while smoking or just
doing it cause they see a friend or a parent doing it. 

As the expert ''Nicholas Balakar" states '' R rated movies contain twice as much
smoking"as other films.
Movies is one of the reasons children are smoking at an early age.
I strongly believe children shouldn't be watching R rated movies,or smoking cigarettes
only if they over  the age of 18 years old.''Nicholas Balakar"also states,
''Our study shows that kids begin to view R rated movies at about the fourth and fifth grade".
I agree with him,children parents are the ones who supposed to tell their kids what and what not to watch.Such as movies,T.V shows and video games thats what kids would mostly do when not in school.

 Kids should not be watching movies with adult behaviors like smoking,drinking and nudity.
They at a age where they shouldn't be concern about those types of things.They should be more concern about school and more important things.This why movies,tvshows and video games have ratings for diffrent age viewers.The more exposure someone gets of something the higher the chance
they would mostly do what they see.A parent that smokes at home would more likely get him to  smoking due to the exposure.In other words a kid with less exposure would have less thoughts about smoking.

Purchasing cigarettes at a store may not be as hard as purchasing beers till now.
New York City recenlty passed a law,you must be over the age of 21 to purchase
cigarettes which will make it harder for underage smokers to buy them.
Smoking at a young age could bring many problems as health issues.It can lead to cancer where smokers dont realize it till they hit a stage in life,where their bodies start changing.
My self at my age of 22 years old I dislike cigarettes due to the smell,ordor and heath problems it brings.

Most people are deceived with other peoples opinion.
Which wont let the person know more information on the topic.
Only way is if the person is willing to take a step further and doing research on their own and not sticking to
one source of information.
According to the author people are being deceived over the planned mosque in Ground Zero.
Which is located in downtown Manhattan,where the Twin Towers were once located.
The planned mosque is place where people come and show their respect to their loved ones.

Due to the terrorist attack on September,11,2001 on the World Trade Center.
Many people loved ones lives where taken on that early morning.It was a sad day for New York City
Residents.There were millions of unanswered questions regarding on what happened .
Many of the answers people got were not correct or not certainly true.

This why I believe people should not believe people opinions,until they gotten it from a source
that could prove it with evidence.This relates too the mosque in Ground Zero for the people that lost their lives that day.The mosque its just a piece of stone with a waterfall,it doesn't mean it could bring people loved ones back. Its all just a hype to bring their money and attention to it .
